It does not define that your citizenship has been surrendered automatically. The stamp must read-\u201ccancelled due to acquiring foreign nationality\u201d. But more or less, the process would be similar segmented under these categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Standalone renunciation, wherein you can apply for surrendering the passport only.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visa + Renunciation, wherein you opt for visa and passport surrendering together.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OCI + Renunciation, wherein you select OCI together with passport renunciation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Indian passport surrender checklist:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Indian passport surrender form<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Original current passport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Notarized affidavit, if the passport is lost<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Last Indian passport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Address proof<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Current photographs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Citizenship certificate etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The aforementioned checklist will be supporting at the time when you apply online for surrendering the passport and applying for OCI or another NRI services.
