The SEBI states- \u201c<em>any NRI having no\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.services2nri.com\/blog\/how-nris-can-apply-for-pan-card-from-abroad\/\"><strong>PAN card<\/strong><\/a>, cannot do the share trading by depository or broker.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It explicitly means that you, being a non-resident, cannot afford not to have this important card. Let\u2019s quickly go through what it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PAN Card:&nbsp;<\/strong>The \u201cPAN\u201d stands for the Permanent Account Number. It\u2019s a ten-digit alphanumeric number. You get it in the form of a laminated card scribed with a unique PAN number. The competent authority, i.e. the Income Tax Department, issues it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mostly, you have to file an application for its issuance a month ago. You can apply for it online as well as offline. It monitors transactions made to it. The tax department will issue a duplicate card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How can you track your PAN Card status?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tracking its status is not an ordeal. You can easily interact with the status of your PAN card application. Mainly, there are three ways to come across the status of your PAN card. They are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Through PAN or Coupon Number on UTI website (if you want to update your existing card):<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click this link:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trackpan.utiitsl.com\/PANONLINE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>http:\/\/www.trackpan.utiitsl.com\/PANONLINE<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to explore the tracking page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type your Application Coupon Number or existing PAN number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Input the CAPTCHA code.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hit the \u2018Submit\u2019 tab.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As you submit your request, the card status will pop up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Through acknowledgement number on NSDL portal:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Visit the tracking page of the NSDL portal, i.e.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tin.tin.nsdl.com\/pantan\/StatusTrack.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>https:\/\/tin.tin.nsdl.com\/pantan\/StatusTrack.html<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The notification will ask you to select the type of application for checking its status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click the filter icon to select the PAN Card specifically from the pop down list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feed \u201cacknowledgement number\u201d that will be of 15-digit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type the CAPTCHA code.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then, hit the \u201cSubmit\u201d tab.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This action will direct the portal to showcase the status of your PAN card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Without acknowledgement number on NSDL portal:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Probably, you may not have the acknowledgement number. Keep worries aside. You can still witness its status. Yes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The TIN-NSDL provides with an ample solution for tracking its details. Just a name of the applicant and the date of birth are enough to browse the status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow these steps thereafter:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to the track page, i.e.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tin.tin.nsdl.com\/pantan\/StatusTrack.html_bkp24052013\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>https:\/\/tin.tin.nsdl.com\/pantan\/StatusTrack.html_bkp24052013<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The page will show a prompt to select the type of application.
