5 Christmas Party Games for NRIs

Christmas is approaching. Western countries, where majority of population is Christian, have an atmosphere of grand carnival. Streets have become the place for processions. And the houses have turned into the decorated heaven where inhabitants will exchange the gift of love with each other. Carols will fill the air with musical tunes. And gift-laden Christmas trees will be lightened up with electrical bulbs.

Indian diaspora abroad does not leave behind. Rather, it participates with more fervor and zeal. To add more fun to the occasion, we have some astonishing entertaining ideas of gaming for our NRI friends. Let we share for doubling their amusement.

Pick and Match: As its name suggests, it’s a simple card game to pick and match. Puzzling? Ok, let’s start with the accessories for game. Just a pack of cards will be enough. Write the player’s name on the board.  The number of players can be 2 to 4.

How to play?

  • Take out three different cards.
  • Bring out their duplicate cards.
  • Jumble up those cards.
  • Now, put the cards on the table in three groups of two each.
  • Ask the participant to pick any one.
  • When picked, ask him/ her to point which card is its match.
  • Now, let him/her randomly pick another from the group.
  • If it matches, the participant wins.
  • Play it turn by turn and add the points to the winner’s column.
  • Sum up after ten turns to find the winner.

Pin the Santa: What all you would need to play this game is a Santa’s big mask and a pin. This game can have many individual players.

How to play?

  • Hang the picture of Santa against the wall.
  • Ask the participant to pick up the pin & look at his forehead.
  • Veil his/her eyes with a cloth.
  • Now, let him/her pin his forehead.
  • If he/she does it perfectly, he/she wins.

Guess-n-win: It’s the guessing game. You need to gather 4 to 5 glasses. Fill them with sand. Hide a coin in any of the glass. From 1 to unlimited individuals can get entertained with it.

How to play?

  • Put the glasses filled with sand on the table.
  • Ask the participant to guess which glass has coin.
  • Give him/her two chances to win.
  • As he/she guesses, pour the sand out to find the coin.
  • If the guess is absolutely correct, gift the participant.

Wrap up Santa: Since it’s the fest of exchanging gifts and love, we can let the participants compete. Make two teams of two or three individuals each. Provide them gift wrap, scissors and cello tape.

How to play?

  • Provide the accessories to wrap.
  • Set the timer.
  • Blow the whistle to start wrapping.
  • The team that proves forerunner in wrapping. It wins.

Tug-of-war: This game is the exhibition of power. The one with powerful muscles will win. It can be a team game or can be played individually by two. Just a rope will be required.  The number of players will be unlimited. But since it’s a team game, you will need at least two participants.

How to play?

  • Separate the participants in to two groups.
  • Provide them rope.
  • Draw a line in the mid.
  • Set the timer.
  • Blow the whistle to start the game.
  • The team that pulls the opposite team into their territory, it wins.

Play & cut the cake. Throw the birthday bash for celebrating the birthday of Jesus Christ. Don’t forget to play these interesting games for splashing into the fun.
