5 Biggest Challenges That Indians Face for Studying Abroad

5 Biggest Challenges That Indians Face for Studying Abroad

Like other ones, Indian aspirants have dreams to fly high in their career. In that pursuit of education, they turn to the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia and many other countries where they can learn and mold themselves to face off with the struggles of making career.

This is not easy. Apart from being a scholar or having lots of degrees in your hand, there are many daunting challenges interrupt your way.

Let’s catch up with the most prominent ones:

  • Confusion over legalities

It’s hardly possible that you are aware of legalities that are meant for prospective NRIs who want to study abroad. The reason is certainly the revisions, the add ons and tenets, which frequently change. So, it is really tough to tap on almost every update regarding studying abroad.

For instance, there would be just a few ones who know about provisional student visa and its validity. Those who are willing to temporarily shift to foreign, they have to get it. It is generally valid of six months. Besides, such students should have the proof of admission to the foreign university to a full time regular academic course in a recognized educational institution.

  • Discrepancies in documents

This is certainly something that can pick on your nerves. There are some mismatches or typo errors that we don’t bother about before applying for visa or passport. These can be related to names, address or date of birth or anything vitally mentioned in your document.

So, the students should always check their documents of birth, address and education to see if there is any mismatch. If all of your documents have identical information, you can go ahead with the immigration procedure without any hassles. But if there is any, you have to make it up look identical in all certificates beforehand. This can be a few months long procedure. So, you should always be attentive to these discrepancies and correct them from the Municipal corporation if it is connected to date of birth and SDM office for aadhar updates.

  • Delays in attestation

As above gone, any discrepancy can defer your admission in the foreign university. Likewise, you should know about the attestation procedure and the competent authorities. On state level, the human resource department of the state puts the stamp of the education certificates, transcript and personal documents, which are later counter-attested by the MEA or Ministry of External Affairs in India.

However, the MEA has also provided the right to procure documents for attestation to only four agencies whose details you can draw from the official government website.

It can be more than a month long procedure to get documents or certificated attested. So, you should go for it three months before applying for visa.

  • Lacking professional advice

More than half of the issues arise for students for being a naïve to actual knowledge about the visa, immigration documentation or attestation procedures. The dubious agents take advantage of this situation and make money by trapping you with the fake information.

So, it’s always important to have a trustworthy source of advice. You can research and visit a legal advisor to consult about the immigration process and the contextual information.

  • Funds discrimination

The tax rules are dissimilar for a native and an NRI. So, the students who are in the part time jobs for making some dollars should always be concerned about it. However, there are some privileges that are reserved for students only. You can get benefits of them, but only when you know about them.

So, acknowledge about them before you catch a flight for learning a course abroad. Thankfully, there is the internet that can help you to know about everything that you don’t know.

  • If you have acquired the foreign citizenship on or after June 1, 2010, you should apply for a naturalization or renunciation certificate.

Penalties associated with non-availability of renunciation certificate:

These are a few norms that the immigrants should always keep into account before acquiring any foreign citizenship.

What is school monitoring?

The school monitoring, as its name suggests, is a process of acknowledging your child’s academic performance. It is an organized way to systematically integrate a child’s all school activities in a coherent plan. This is how an overview of his performance shapes up. It serves as a referral, which guide parents, students and school authority to measure up his overall school performance. Thereby, it guides them to do the needful, if required, for improving his academic productivity. If his evaluation report marks him meritorious, you can award him with some gifts or picnic to boost up his morale.

Importance of school monitoring and evaluation system:

  1. Less paper work:

In 1980s and 90s, this kind of monitoring was a paperbound activity. But today, almost every system is transformed digitally. It has lessened the piles of unmanageable volumes of messy paper records. Their goal was to determine the progress of individual students in a timely manner. The goal of the digital monitoring system is more advanced. Besides progress, it has the efficacy of measuring flaws. It suggests that the failure or weakness can be averted through attending that flaw seriously. A little bit of hard work can pay off for this smart move.

  1. Performance boosts up:

In all, it is a performance tracker of pupils that helps in making a career of NRI children. Having been highlighted with the plus and the minus, it assists in addressing the problems. It spotlights the verticals for segregating verticals requiring more and less attention each in the education and extra-curricular activities.

  1. e-monitoring for lifting performance:

The electronic monitoring system is infused with live-chat facility. Even, contact numbers are particularly marked there for requesting direct addressing through a competent authority, say the principal or a class teacher. The parents can remotely get in touch with the teachers through it. It infuses a level of comfort for accessing ward’s progress anytime from anywhere. Thereby, the father or mother, despite being offshore, can ask teachers for the weaknesses, strengths and what-to-do to eliminate them.

  1. Child development programs:

The e-evaluation reports of academics displays scored marks and grades. Thereby, the NRI parents witness monitoring report across the internet. Even, they can plan to schedule a skype chat, for example, for discussing distantly over a variety of dynamic child development programs. The responsive and fast communication stays at your disposal to solve any matter of your child online. Moreover, the teenage NRI students can get best career advice through this excellent online mode of communication.

  1. Career counseling:

The electronic school monitoring systems are merged with career counseling. If they aren’t, the NRI parents can ask for an online advice over making the career in the government jobs, like IAS, IFS or DSSSB or about the private jobs and their prospects. A timely advisor can save a lot of time and directs the ward to achieve what he intends to. He will have hundreds of opportunities and inputs to catch the fruitful outcome.

  1. Preventing bullying:

Students often hide embarrassing incidents, like bullying. If, somehow, they muster courage to share it with parents, the far-located NRI father or mother will be unable to discuss the matter with teachers. Staying mute or lodging no complaints on-time can boost up such evil practices. Therefore, the parents should mention it as a remark in an e-monitoring report.
